RAFFAELLO

Male · Puppy · 10 months

Raffaelo is a male Keeshond, born on September 19, 2025. He was surrendered to us because his previous owners could no longer afford the associated costs. Raffaelo is a friendly, people-oriented, and cuddly young dog who thoroughly enjoys being close to his trusted humans. He displays playful behavior, curiosity, and looks forward to engaging in activities together with his family. As a young dog, Raffaelo still has much to learn about the basics of dog ownership. Therefore, he needs people who can provide him with patience, consistency, and clear guidance to help him find his way. With the right training, he will develop into a delightful companion. Raffaelo gets along well with other dogs. Living with another dog is entirely feasible—ideally with a very confident partner dog or under expert guidance during the introduction process. We would prefer for him to find a calm home where he has the opportunity to settle at his own pace and gradually gain new experiences. Currently, Raffaelo cannot yet be left alone and must be gently introduced to being by himself. In addition, he exhibits the typical barking tendencies of his breed and loves to express his opinion loudly. Further work is also needed on his house-training skills. Raffaelo shows particular sensitivity toward two-wheeled vehicles. For this, he requires understanding training and people who can confidently guide him through such situations. Raffaelo previously had a car accident and subsequently had to remain confined to his crate for an extended period. As a result, he has not yet been exposed to many important environmental stimuli and everyday situations. His new owners should therefore patiently and gradually introduce him to new experiences. As a Keeshond, Raffaelo also carries breed-typical characteristics. Potential breed-related health issues should be kept in mind, as they may lead to higher veterinary costs in the future. Moreover, his coat requires regular and careful grooming to prevent matting and keep his beautiful fur healthy. -0Fax: 089/90 73 20E-Mail

DE·Show original

-0Fax: 089/90 73 20E-Mail

About RAFFAELLO

What life with RAFFAELLO looks like

RAFFAELLO is a puppy/kitten dog waiting at Tierschutzverein München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting RAFFAELLO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about RAFFAELLO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein München handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw RAFFAELLO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt RAFFAELLO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein München will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is RAFFAELLO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if RAFFAELLO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein München early rather than rehoming privately; they know RAFFAELLO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
