adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt Raffi! adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt Raffi! Raffi has found his home! His story: While some dogs conquer the world with gusto, Raffi is more of a quiet observer. The cute little fellow with his brown-black fur is a small rough diamond that still has much to learn about how wonderful life can be by the side of humans. As a genuine "purebred stray," he is a natural wonder—possessing a unique detail that only becomes visible upon closer inspection: those small black pigmentation spots on his tongue make him unmistakable. Found together with his siblings Linchen, Whoop, Rory, and Nayla at the edge of the forest—undernourished and infested with parasites. This tough beginning has left its mark, so Raffi is initially a cautious puppy. But thanks to his puppy-like curiosity, he will likely shed this reticence in the right environment. Since we don't know his parents, it's hard to assess his genetic development—likely, he will grow to be medium to large. For Raffi, we are looking for people who don't expect an "instant start-up" but rather enjoy showing a sensitive dog the world step by step. During the puppy stage and the following puberty, he needs a particularly loving, patient, and sovereign upbringing. Attending a gentle dog training class will help him develop self-confidence and grow into a secure companion. A key training topic will be gentle alone time. Currently, Raffi lives in a Romanian foster home in full outdoor conditions and is heavily influenced by his siblings and the other dogs on site. This canine society gives him a lot of security. He has also already met cats. In his new home, Raffi needs to learn that he can also be secure without his familiar pack. His people should therefore plan enough time to build this trust step by step and gently. For his complete happiness, Raffi wishes for a quiet home with a house and an enclosed garden. A turbulent city life would likely overwhelm the sensitive fellow. He dreams of a rural environment or the green outskirts where he can settle at his own pace and explore the world. Raffi travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated to his new home. His EU pet passport is of course included. Even a loving foster home would be a wonderful start to a happy future for him. Thank you, Alexandra R., for naming Raffi and paving the way for Raffi's better future. As of: 19.02.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 19.02.2026

About Raffi

What life with Raffi looks like

Raffi is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Raffi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Raffi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Raffi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Raffi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Raffi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Raffi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Raffi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
