top of pageRainShareLife With Rain Will Never Be DullRain – Looking for His Forever Home 🐾 Meet Rain, a handsome black cat just over a year old, with a big personality, a playful nature and plenty of mischief up his sleeve! Rain’s Story Born in the alleyways of Moss Side, Rain spent the first few months of his life living outdoors alongside other cats. He has since spent several months in foster care and has adapted brilliantly to life in a home environment. Rain is a wonderful example of how these little outdoor souls can flourish when given the chance to feel safe, loved and settled. Personality & Temperament Rain is a lively, confident and sociable young boy who loves being around people. Although he isn’t quite a lap cat, he enjoys being close to his humans. You’ll often find him sitting beside you on the sofa, sleeping on your bed or following you around the house like a little shadow. He’s also the household meet-and-greeter and is always ready to welcome visitors, making sure everyone knows he’s there! Rain loves his toys, especially his little mice, which he can often be found proudly carrying around in his mouth. He does, however, have a mischievous streak, and his favourite game seems to be pushing things off surfaces with his rather naughty right paw! Anything precious will need to be kept safely out of reach. Life with Rain is certainly never dull! Living With Other Cats Rain is brilliant with other cats and really enjoys having a feline friend to play with. Having grown up around other cats and spent time in a multi-cat foster home, he would be happiest in a home with another friendly, playful cat for company. He is currently great friends with his foster buddy, Alban, and it would be lovely to see the pair find a home together. However, they can be adopted separately, provided Rain has a suitable feline companion waiting for him. His Ideal Home Rain is still very curious about the great outdoors, so he will need access to a safe outdoor environment once he has had plenty of time to settle into his new home. This must be away from busy roads. He could live with children, provided they understand how to interact respectfully with cats and give him the space he needs. Rain would suit a home looking for a fun-loving, confident young cat who enjoys companionship, playtime and being part of everyday family life. Rain at a Glance; * Age: Just over one year old * Colour: Black * Neutered: Yes * Vaccinated: Yes * Flea and worm treatments: Up to date * Health: In good health * Children: Could live with children * Other cats: Needs a friendly, playful feline companion * Outdoor access: Required once settled, in a safe area away from busy roads Could You Be Rain’s Forever Home? He’s already made wonderful progress from his early days outdoors, and now he needs someone to offer him the stability, companionship and love he deserves for the rest of his life. About Rain

What life with Rain looks like

Rain is a large adult cat waiting at PawPurrs Halfway House in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction β€” every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rain, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rain?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PawPurrs Halfway House handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rain on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rain if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” PawPurrs Halfway House will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Rain already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rain isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PawPurrs Halfway House early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rain and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
