Rain

Mixed Breed · Unknown · 9 months

Spayed: YES Description Rain is a very beautiful cat who is shy at first and needs time and patience to trust. History Rain was reported by some people from the Conversano neighborhood with a completely torn leg, and it was at risk of infection. We worked for days to catch him, but in the end we were able to recover Rain and provide him with the necessary care. The leg had to be amputated, but despite this, he jumps like a normal cat. Ideal adoption Being shy, what we wish for him is to find a patient family that can love him. A family without children is preferred, and maybe with a friendly cat that can help him in his socialization process.

About Rain

What life with Rain looks like

Rain is an adult mixed breed cat waiting at Lega Nazionale per la Difesa del Cane — Conversano in Conversano.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rain, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rain?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Lega Nazionale per la Difesa del Cane — Conversano handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rain on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rain if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Lega Nazionale per la Difesa del Cane — Conversano will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Rain already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rain isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Lega Nazionale per la Difesa del Cane — Conversano early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rain and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
