adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Raja has found her home! Her story: Our beloved Raja carries a lot of love and is waiting in Löpten, south of Berlin. Raja originally came from Romania, from a remote Romanian village. Raja has to leave her current family and is searching for a new home. The surrender was due to an unforeseen family change. Raja immediately captivates with her charm. Her gaze radiates pure friendliness and puts a smile on everyone's face. Raja is a very lively young female dog, about 13 months old. With Raja, there's always something to laugh about. With her lovable, clumsy, open nature, and curiosity, one simply adores Raja. She is about 13 months old and weighs around 30 kg. She is a rather large female dog with a shoulder height of about 63 cm. Raja is a beautiful white-brown young female dog and very clingy towards people. Raja is a Romanian mixed breed. We cannot rule out that herd guard dog genes are present; her mother is a Mioritic-Mix. Raja is short-haired and has a slim build. In the company of other dogs, Raja is very open and playful. Cats are also no problem for Raja. Household noises like vacuum cleaners or dishwashers do not bother her. She is very friendly to everyone—whether the postman or strangers, Raja simply loves everyone. She shows no protective instinct. Raja is cuddly and very contact-seeking and loves to be with her people. She is house-trained and can be left alone for a certain period. Raja will be after a positive assessment microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and neutered, and of course, she brings her EU pet passport. What Raja still needs for her happiness is a loving family. Are you perhaps the right person for Raja? Many thanks, Selinah! Your namingsponsorship was the starting gun for a new life! As of: 10.01.

About Raja

What life with Raja looks like

Raja is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Raja, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Raja?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Raja on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Raja if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Raja already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Raja isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Raja and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
