RAKEŤÁK

Mixed Breed · Male

Maybe you remember the kitten Canneloni and her Italian family from last year. And maybe you also noticed that she was not the only one of the cats we accepted a year ago from a man who had accumulated them at home. Of course, the cats were not spayed and reproduced uncontrollably among themselves. Thus our RAKEŤÁK, a tomcat, whose genetics were not exactly smooth. When you look at him, you might think - this must be a kitten! But it's not quite true. The kitten is over a year old, but his growth has stalled at the size of about a five-month-old kitten. To make matters worse, he has epilepsy since infancy, so he must take a pill once a day. He was also born with poorly developed eyes - he has poor tear ducts and his eyelids were turned inward. The eyelids were fixed in September with plastic surgery, but because of the tear ducts, RAKEŤÁK is still constantly runny. Well, he wouldn't win a beauty contest. Despite his handicaps, though, he is a nice guy. He is the boss of the whole room, especially now that two of his rivals, Valentine and Viggo, have left for new homes. RAKEŤÁK must meow first at all bowls and he also has plenty of energy.

CS·Show original

Možná si z loňského roku pamatujete kočičku Canneloni a její italskou rodinku. No soutěž krásy by nevyhrál.

About RAKEŤÁK

What life with RAKEŤÁK looks like

RAKEŤÁK is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Útulek Kocour Felix (PSOZ) in Czech Republic.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇨🇿Adopting from Czech Republic

Czech shelters (útulky) include sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID. The adopter signs a written contract (smlouva) — the shelter may follow up to verify wellbeing.

Frequently asked

Adopting RAKEŤÁK, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about RAKEŤÁK?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Útulek Kocour Felix (PSOZ) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw RAKEŤÁK on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt RAKEŤÁK if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Útulek Kocour Felix (PSOZ) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is RAKEŤÁK already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if RAKEŤÁK isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Útulek Kocour Felix (PSOZ) early rather than rehoming privately; they know RAKEŤÁK and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (CS). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
