adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Raki has found a home! His story: The little Raki currently lives in a private foster home in Romania and looks hopefully toward a better future. It's a bit quieter here than at the public shelter, but he can't stay here and faces the prospect of going to the shelter if he doesn't find a home soon. Raki is a approximately 3-month-old, playful little male dog who is expected to grow into a medium-sized adult. He has dark button eyes and fluffy black-and-white fur with white pantaloons. At the moment, the little Raki is a cuddly and sweet puppy that wants to be loved and protected. He is friendly and cuddly, loves all people and dogs, and will surely try to make everything right in his new home – although he still doesn't know what life in a family is like and still has a lot to learn. In a few months, Raki will enter puberty, which will often put everything he has learned so far into question and test the boundaries. Rules are often reevaluated during this life phase, but with a loving and consistent training style, the clever fellow will emerge as a well-mannered and confident young dog and accompany his family faithfully and reliably in all activities. We wish adopters for Raki who would like to take him in with love and patience, give him a sense of family, a warm dog bed, beautiful walks, and plenty of contact with fellow animals. After the adjustment period, we would recommend a visit to a positively working dog training class, where Raki can train together with his new family and gain positive experiences. With lots of love, understanding, and positive reinforcement, he will surely quickly learn the entire puppy 1×1. He wishes for a better future and a chance at a fulfilling dog life with understanding and friendly people. He will certainly do everything he can to not disappoint his rescuers! Even a foster home would make him very happy. Thank you to Lea, who gave Raki a beautiful name and thus an identity for his new life. As of: 24.09. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 24.09.2024

About Raki

What life with Raki looks like

Raki is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Raki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Raki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Raki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Raki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Raki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Raki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Raki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
