Rico and Rina were sadly entrusted to us. Rico is a very affectionate parrot who loves to sit on someone’s shoulder and be scratched. Rina, although not fearful, only does this when Rico is there, making her a bit of a follower. The small catch, however, is that the two do not feel as comfortable with us as they did in their old home, where the trusted people were. They readily take food from our hands but have not fully trusted us yet. Of course, this takes time, and it will also take time for them to settle in their new home. With lots of patience, time, and treats. Of course, appropriate species-specific husbandry is also essential!. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

Rico und Rina wurden schwer Herzens bei uns abgegeben. Rico ist ein sehr lieber Papagei und liebt es auf der Schulter zu sitzen und gekrault zu werden. Rina ist zwar auch nicht Scheu ist aber nur auf der Schulter wenn auch Rico da ist. Also eine kleine Mitläuferin ;-) Der kleine Haken ist allerdings das die beiden sich bei uns nicht so wohl fühlen wie in ihrem alten Zuhause, da die Bezugspersonen fehlen. Sie nehmen von uns gerne futter aus der Hand aber richtig trauen wollen sie uns noch nicht. Das braucht natürlich Zeit und im neuen Zuhause wird es auch Zeit brauchen um anzukommen. Mit viel Geduld, Zeit und Leckereien. Eine Artgerechte Haltung darf natürlich auch nicht fehlen! Rico hat Aspergillose und benötigt Herz Medikamente 2x täglich, was seine
