Raquel

European Shorthair · Male · Young · 1 year

Description RAQUEL: a blue-eyed white prince seeking a home: Although his name might be misleading, Raquel is a male cat just over a year old, white, with long fur and blue eyes, as handsome as he is special. He’s an alpha cat, confident and sure of himself, but also surprisingly tender and attentive to those around him. He’s very social with other cats: he gets along especially well with males. As for females, he tolerates them without issue. He’s a natural caregiver: when a companion is feeling down, he grooms and accompanies them. He has a huge heart. His story: Raquel lived in the feral cat colony El Secano de Torreagüera. One day, he found himself completely alone on the street; even his mother stopped attending to him. January was a tough month, and on the 30th, it was decided to rescue him. He was already neutered (he has the mark), but he was still exposed to the cold and abandonment. Today, healthy and safe, he awaits a permanent home where he can receive the affection he always deserved and where he can give all that immense love that’s inside him. What he’s looking for: A family that values his personality and nobility. A home where he can coexist with other male cats or be the king of the house. People who want an elegant, confident, and very special companion.

About Raquel

What life with Raquel looks like

Raquel is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Sálvanos Protectora in Spain.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Raquel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Raquel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Sálvanos Protectora handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Raquel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Raquel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Sálvanos Protectora will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Raquel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Raquel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Sálvanos Protectora early rather than rehoming privately; they know Raquel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
