adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Adoption prerequisites Rasputin has finally found a home! His story: Hard to believe – for 3 years, the chocolate-colored Rasputin with the great ears has been waiting for his home! Our Rasputin was found in a not-so-nice part of the city. Often, dogs are abandoned there. Rasputin ate garbage and tried to fit into the existing dog pack. But he couldn't make it, as he was constantly attacked and bullied. Our animal welfare workers were able to rescue Rasputin from the streets. Now he shows everyone how great he is! Rasputin is estimated to be around 3-4 years old. He is very active and has a lot of ideas in his head. Rasputin looks bigger in the photos than he actually is. With a shoulder height of about 45 cm and a weight of around 15 kg, he belongs to the small to medium-sized dogs. He gets along well with his fellow animals. Rasputin is described as very clingy, friendly, cuddly, and curious. He enjoys walks and loves to explore his surroundings. His tail is short, likely docked. Therefore, he cannot enter Switzerland. The past of Rasputin is unknown. His future is now in our hands! We wish for a family that can meet the needs of a male dog appropriately. He is a great boy and deserves the best. Rasputin must still learn a lot – but with his open nature, we assume he will quickly find his place and always – fittingly to his coat – show his chocolate side. A positive upbringing style and regular contact with his fellow animals are essential. Rasputin looks forward to his new life with beautiful adventures in nature, a cozy dog bed, and people who will forever have him in their hearts. We suspect that Rasputin is a Husky mix. As a breed, he should be appropriately exercised and engaged, both physically and mentally. Although Rasputin is more of the laid-back type 🙂 Huskies are known to be gentle and people-oriented, so they don't like being alone. They like to be with people all the time. Dogs form a close bond with their owners. We wish for Rasputin people who have experience with the characteristics of a Husky or have been dealing with them and know their needs. Our Rasputin is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He has his EU pet passport and can enter after a positive match. Who will fall in love with the wonderful Rasputin? Many thanks to Sandra O. and Franzi! You gave Rasputin his name! Heartfelt thanks to Anita J.! You support Rasputin with a monthly sponsorship. As of 21.01.

Lieben Dank Anita J.! Du unterstützt Rasputin mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft. Stand: 21.01.2025

About Rasputin

What life with Rasputin looks like

Rasputin is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rasputin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rasputin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rasputin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rasputin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rasputin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rasputin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rasputin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
