Adopt Ravix

Female · Adult · 4 years

Ravix is a nervous girl who has come into our care from a breeder. She is finding kennel life a little overwhelming at the moment and prefers to stay close to her doggy friends where she feels safest. Right now, Ravix is still feeling quite unsure, but she is beginning to show small and encouraging signs of progress. She has started to approach people for a gentle sniff before backing away again, which may seem like a small step, but for Ravix it is a huge milestone and shows she is slowly building confidence. She continues to draw comfort from the company of her kennel mates, so we feel she will need to be homed with a calm and confident resident dog who can offer reassurance and help guide her as she adjusts to life outside of kennels. Ravix’s carers have been able to gently approach her and introduce a harness, and she is beginning to get used to wearing one. This is an important early step before she starts learning to walk on a lead. With nervous dogs like Ravix, taking things slowly and at her pace will be key to helping her succeed, and little by little her personality is starting to shine through. As Ravix has never lived in a home before, she will need patient adopters who can gently teach her all about house training, lead training, and the everyday basics of home life. A predictable routine and a quiet environment will help her build confidence at her own pace. We are looking for an adult-only home for Ravix so that she can settle into her new surroundings without too much noise or activity. She can be wary of sudden movements, so will need understanding adopters who are happy to give her time, space, and gentle encouragement as she begins to trust. Ravix has some hormonal alopecia, but this is already growing back nicely. She also has Grade 1 luxating patella, but this may improve with gentle exercise as she builds muscle. With kindness and patience, Ravix has the potential to form a very special bond with her new family and slowly grow into a devoted and gentle companion. She really is a sweet girl, and seeing her progress is incredibly heartwarming. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Ravix

What life with Ravix looks like

Ravix is a extra-large adult dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Has alopecia and Grade 1 luxating patella. Needs to be homed with a calm, confident resident dog. Requires patient training for house and lead training as never lived in a home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ravix, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ravix?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ravix on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ravix if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ravix already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ravix isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ravix and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
