RAYCO

Mixed Breed · Male

Rayco: A Boy Learning to Trust We are looking for a special home for Rayco, a sweet young boy who is currently looking for his forever family. Weighing just under 20kg, he is the perfect size for someone looking for a loyal companion to go on adventures with! About Rayco Rayco has been working hard on building his confidence. He has some sensitivity around the back of his collar, which we believe stems from past discomfort. We are currently working on desensitizing him to this, and we have seen amazing progress. When he is out of the kennel and with people he knows and trusts, he is a different dog—he loves cuddles and is even happy to be carried! Regarding other dogs, Rayco seems very friendly toward calm canine companions. However, it is still early days, so we cannot yet say how he would react if another dog were to accidentally touch his sensitive area, and we are proceeding with caution. A Word from his Volunteer Walker, Paula: "I’ve been walking Rayco for a few weeks now and he has improved so much. He loves his walks and gets so excited when I visit his kennel—he’ll jump up for a cuddle! He isn’t worried by other dogs and walks beautifully once he settles in. He’s learning that he is safe and loved. He is a truly lovely lad and I have a real soft spot for him." What Rayco Needs. Because Rayco is still learning to navigate his sensitivities, he is looking for a home that meets the following criteria: Patience & Understanding: He needs an adopter who is committed to continuing his positive training and helping him feel secure. A Calm Environment: We are looking for a home without young children, as he needs space and a predictable environment to continue his progress. A Trusted Human: Once he knows you, he is a total sweetheart who just wants to be close to you. Rayco is a dog who has a lot of love to give to the right person. If you are a patient, calm, and loving human who is ready to help a brave boy thrive, we would love to hear from you. Interested in meeting Rayco? Please check out his profile, apply for more information through our website or via messenger. He is a special boy who deserves a better life. About RAYCO

What life with RAYCO looks like

RAYCO is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Murcia) in Lips Rescue.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting RAYCO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about RAYCO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Murcia) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw RAYCO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt RAYCO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Murcia) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is RAYCO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if RAYCO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Murcia) early rather than rehoming privately; they know RAYCO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
