Rayo - a top type for Podenco lovers. Rayo is super friendly, gentle and well-behaved and incredibly affectionate. When cuddling, he would like to crawl into someone and hold them with his front paws so that they don't stop petting. He stays well alone, likes to lie in the sun and also plays with his toys. With other dogs - whether male or female - he is very compatible and rather the submissive type. Throughout the day, he follows his favorite human and just wants to be there all the time. Rayo was diagnosed with an allergy and receives special food and medication. In the car, he travels well, even though he sometimes makes a little noise. Rayo doesn't damage anything in the house, eats his hydrolyzed dry food obediently and also takes his tablets without any problems. Once a day he needs eye drops because he has too little tear fluid, but he calmly accepts that. His fur is growing back well now. The bald spots he came with from Spain are almost completely gone. He loves being in the garden - of course when his caregiver is there too - and there he is a real mouse hunter. That is also his little problem: When he is in hunting mode (mice, rabbits, birds), he no longer responds to calls. Therefore, free roaming will probably not be possible for a long time, maybe even permanently. Children are no problem, but cats are. On a leash, he walks well until he sees something interesting. Rayo is very greedy and insists on his food loudly. A total smart guy who loves cuddling in soft blankets and is generally a great, active dog - a securely fenced garden is at the top of Rayo's wish list - right behind cuddling. Here is Rayo's video.

Rayo – ein Klasse-Typ für Podenco-Liebhaber Rayo ist ein super lieber, sanfter und braver Hund und unglaublich verschmust. Beim Kuscheln würde er am liebsten in einen hineinkriechen und hält einen mit seinen Vorderpfoten fest, damit man ja nicht aufhört zu streicheln. Er bleibt brav allein, liegt gerne in der Sonne und spielt auch mit seinen Spielsachen. Mit anderen Hunden – egal ob Rüde oder Hündin – ist er sehr verträglich und eher der unterwürfige Typ. Den ganzen Tag läuft er hinter seinem Lieblingsmenschen her und möchte einfach immer dabei sein. Bei Rayo wurde eine Allergie diagnostiziert und er bekommt Spezialfutter und Medikamente. Im Auto fährt er gut mit, auch wenn er manchmal ein wenig fiepst. Rayo macht im Haus nichts kaputt, frisst brav sein hydrolysiertes Trockenfutter und nimmt auch seine Tabletten problemlos. Einmal täglich braucht er Augentropfen, da er zu wenig Tränenflüssigkeit hat, aber das lässt er sich ganz ruhig gefallen. Seine Haare wachsen inzwischen wieder gut nach. Die kahlen Stellen, mit denen er aus Spanien kam, sind bald komplett weg. Am liebsten ist er im Garten – wenn Pflegefrauchen auch dort ist natürlich – und dort ein echter Mäusejäger. Genau das ist auch sein kleines Problem: Wenn er im Jagdmodus ist (Mäuse, Hasen, Vögel), hört er nicht mehr auf Ansprache. Deshalb wird Freilauf vermutlich auf lange Zeit, vielleicht auch dauerhaft nicht möglich sein. Kinder sind kein Problem, Katzen aber schon. An der Leine läuft er gut, bis er etwas Interessantes sieht. Rayo ist sehr verfressen und fordert sein Futter auch gerne lautstark ein. Ein total schlaues Kerlchen, das Kuscheln in weichen Decken liebt und insgesamt ein ganz toller, aktiver Hund ist – ein gut und sicher eingezäunter Garten steht auf Rayos Wunschliste ganz oben – direkt hinter Schmusen.
