Rebekka
Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years
Our black little ray of sunshine Rebekka (born 01/2023) is super sweet, just as lovable, and simply adorable! She is affectionate, environmentally secure, and also attached to her people. Her temperament is balanced, overall rather calm and unobtrusive. Rebekka gets along very well with other dogs, is house-trained, and walks well on the leash. She also copes with car rides, though she is still a bit excited. Whether she is unfamiliar with car travel or whether it is anticipation of the walk, her foster home isn't quite sure, but by now she climbs into the car of her own accord, doesn't get car sick, and doesn't drool. This is practiced daily. She shows no prey drive and is also uncomplicated when meeting strange dogs. She lives in harmony with the dogs of her foster home as well. She is particularly interested, however, in female dogs of roughly the same age. She would be very well suited as a second dog, but this is not a requirement, as long as she receives enough exercise and the opportunity for contact with other dogs. Because she loves people very much. She is also friendly toward visitors. It was really wonderful to see how she handled it: as if they were old friends, she greeted the guests calmly and warmly. It also seemed she enjoyed the lively house, which is why we can picture her in a family with teenage children. Rebekka is a compact type with a somewhat shorter muzzle and considerable strength. She loves going for walks and certainly sets a brisk pace. At home she then indulges her cozy side. Rebekka currently still carries a few extra pounds, so her fitness and figure are being worked on gently. Through movement training and diet, her waistline is already beginning to show a little. In general interactions, especially at the beginning, she displays a certain submissiveness and caution, which is presumably due to her past experiences. Her foster home suspects that before her shelter career she had a home and was raised with a heavy hand. For example, at first she did not go up to the first floor, not because she cannot climb stairs, but because she was unsure whether she was allowed to. She spontaneously followed the foster home's own dogs upstairs at first, but halfway up the stairs her courage failed and she went back down. She also shows uncertainty about which threshold she may cross and which she may not. That is why we are looking for people who, through loving and consistent guidance, will help her build more self-confidence and be braver, without, however, untraining the good aspects of her upbringing, such as leash manners and respectful behavior toward people. She does not know that she is strong, and that is actually quite good! Experience with strong and fairly stubborn cuddle bombs is therefore desirable. Currently Rebekka lives with her foster home in a small town at the edge of a forest. This works completely without problems, and although we believe she can be taken along everywhere in the long term, a rather quiet living situation would be a sensible starting point. If Rebekka sounds like YOUR female dog, then write to us, introduce yourself, and leave us a phone number for easier contact. Rebekka is neutered and will be vaccinated, microchipped, and placed with a protection agreement after a positive preliminary check. A safety harness (3 straps) is required when collecting the dog. Such a harness can be purchased for just 25€.

Unser schwarzes Sonnenscheinchen Rebekka (geb.
