Reggae

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Male Texel guinea pig Born April 2024 Surrender animal Neutered yes / [] no In shelter since 15.10.2026 ________________________ Reggae was surrendered with his brother for private reasons. They were both neutered on 20.10.2026, so they are still in neutering quarantine. His friend has a home in prospect, so we are now looking for a home for the little Reggae. We would like to schedule a release so that neither of the two would have to sit alone with us. Reggae is unfortunately still quite panicked with humans. He is very gentle and submissive with his companion. We cannot say how he behaves with females. He is currently slightly overweight, so a corresponding healthy diet should be observed. We are looking for an ideal group of females for him, where he can meet well-socialized guinea pig ladies, preferably of different ages. The enclosure should be spacious with plenty of running space and nicely structured. Furthermore, of course, an appropriate diet (i.e. no pellet/dry food but fresh greens, good hay, herbs, etc.) and a reliable supply should be taken into account. Please note that guinea pigs, like most small pets, are well suited as "observation animals", but should not serve as "first pet" or cuddly toy for children. ________________________ (as of 30.10.2026) (Click on the pictures to see them in full size!) The description only reflects how the animal behaves in the shelter at the moment. It is possible that the animal will behave differently in its new home with you and your upbringing! männlich Texelmeerschweinchen Geboren April 2024 Abgabetier Kastriert ja / [] nein Im Tierheim seit 15.10.2026 ________________________ Reggae wurde zusammen mit seinem Bruder aus privaten Gründen abgegeben.

About Reggae

What life with Reggae looks like

Reggae is a young adult mixed breed animal waiting at Tierheim Marburg in Marburg.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Reggae far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

Paperwork, vet checks and transport rules differ by species and by country. Ask the shelter what is included and what you will need to arrange before you commit.

Frequently asked

Adopting Reggae, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Reggae?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Marburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Reggae on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Reggae if I live in another country?
Sometimes. Whether a animal can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Tierheim Marburg what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Reggae already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
What a animal comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Tierheim Marburg directly what is included and what Reggae still needs.
What happens if Reggae isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Marburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Reggae and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
