adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process RéM has found a home! His story: The brothers RéM and Nowi had to unfortunately move from their Romanian foster home into a kennel facility. Their siblings have already been rehomed, and the two wonderful boys are now also searching for their own beautiful home. Forcing them to grow up behind bars is something we would like to spare them. Of course, we have vowed not to rest until we know the dogs are in safety and have found a place with loving people who will care for and love them, showing them how wonderful life as a family dog can be. RéM is a friendly and curious young pup who is a bit more cautious in new situations. He has short, brown and black spotted fur and is a particularly handsome young pup. With his dark, hopeful eyes, he looks forward to his future. RéM is only about nine months old and, with his height of 65 cm, is a large dog. He will likely settle into his new home quickly, although of course he has no experience with life as a house dog and knows little about house training and leash manners. But RéM is a very bright male dog who is always trying to please people. With lots of love, understanding, and positive reinforcement, he will learn the entire dog 1×1 in no time. It's important that there's no chaos in his new family, which could overwhelm him. After the adjustment period, RéM will be looking forward to attending a positively working dog training class. Soon the wonderful boy will enter puberty, which will bring everything he has learned so far into question and test the boundaries anew. But with loving and consistent training by his adopters, RéM will emerge from this phase as a well-mannered and confident young male dog, faithfully and reliably accompanying his family in all activities. We wish for RéM loving, animal-friendly people who will take him in with love and patience, give him a sense of family, a warm dog bed, beautiful walks, and – crucially for a puppy – plenty of contact with fellow animals. We would also be very happy about a foster home for the young pup. We thank the anonymous patron who gave RéM his name! As of: 18.11. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped. This is a young, adolescent dog.

Stand: 18.11.2024

About RéM

What life with RéM looks like

RéM is a extra-large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting RéM, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about RéM?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw RéM on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt RéM if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is RéM already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if RéM isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know RéM and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
