Adopt Remo

Mixed Breed · Unknown

What did a person do to you that you are so afraid of the world? Remo has been with us since April 2024. When he arrived here, he was scared of everything. Any louder noise, the barking of dogs caused him such great fear that he would hide in the doghouse. Only there did he feel somewhat safer. The volunteers started working with him, and each day brings results. Remo needs to get to know someone well before going out for a walk. Therefore, he is very distrustful at first. He is afraid of strangers, and each new person causes him fear. He reacts very positively to known people - he is more willing to go for walks, does not pull, walks calmly and is very polite. He likes to be petted 🐶 However, he still cannot find his way in the shelter's reality and it may be that he never will. Dogs like Remo really open up in their true home, where they feel safe. We are looking for responsible caregivers who will provide him with a quiet, peaceful home and work on his trust, and then we hope he will completely open up to the world. We strongly believe in this! He was born around 2018. He is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. He is located in Radom. Transport by own means.

Mocno w to wierzymy! Urodził się ok 2018 roku. Został zaszczepiony, zaczipowany i wykastrowany. Przebywa w Radomiu.Transport we własnym zakresie. Kontakt tylko telefonicznyKasia 507 237 447Ola 533 564 074

About Remo

What life with Remo looks like

Remo is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Radom in Radom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Remo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Remo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Radom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Remo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Remo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Radom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Remo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Remo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Radom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Remo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
