adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Remus has found a home! His story: Remus is approximately 3 months old and currently weighs around 1.8 kg with a size of 22 cm. He is the smallest among his siblings – he is expected to grow to be small to medium-sized when fully grown. He was found by our dear Sonia – all alone on a parking lot, too young to survive on his own. But luckily, she was at the right place at the right time and could come into our care. Now he lives in a foster home in Zalau, where he is housed with Sonia and enjoys his full puppy life. He is typically curious, playful, and simply heartwarming in his friendliness. Every new day is an adventure for him – and he loves to explore, play, and snuggle. He gets along well with other dogs. Whether he is also compatible with cats, we have unfortunately not been able to test yet. As Remus is still a young puppy, he still needs to learn the puppy-1×1. Therefore, he is looking for a loving family with a lot of patience that gives him the time to settle in and discover the world step by step. With the right mix of love, understanding, and upbringing, he will make a wonderful lifelong companion! In a few months, he will enter puberty – an exciting but also challenging phase where he may question some of what he has learned. But with consistent, but sensitive upbringing and a understanding family by his side, he will master this time well and grow into a wonderful companion. Would you like to give Remus a forever home? Please contact us. Many thanks Fam. Koller for taking over the nametag sponsorship!. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vielen Dank Fam. Koller für die Übernahme der Namenspatenschaft!

About Remus

What life with Remus looks like

Remus is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Remus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Remus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Remus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Remus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Remus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Remus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Remus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
