Remy

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Remy is a beautiful black-and-white, spayed 2 year old little girl weighing around 7kg. She is affectionate, playful and enjoys the company of both people and other dogs. She is a very intelligent, playful, affectionate little dog who loves spending time with people, including children and enjoys plenty of fuss and cuddles. Remy is also very sociable with other dogs one she knows they are friendly and would be happy sharing her home with a friendly canine companion. She has previously lived with a cat, so she could potentially live with a dog-savvy cat following careful introductions. Remy is already spayed and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a small, loving and fun addition to their family. Remy can be a little sensititive to loud noises, but since moving into foster with another dog, her confidence has started to grow enormously and her personality has really started to shine. For this reason, she needs a home with a friendly, confident resident dog who can continue to reassure her and help her feel secure. Her adopters will need to be patient and allow her time to build confidence in new surroundings and situations. Remy is a sweet, loving little dog who will make a wonderful companion in the right home. Remy will arrive fully vaccinated and with comprehensive health checks, including: Most of our dogs have been found abandoned as young pups, discarded as unwanted litters, as is often the case in Portugal where neutering is not as common as in the UK. After rescue, all of our pups spend time in private shelters and foster homes, meaning they arrive happy, healthy and well socialised. UK Registered Charity Number 1183775

About Remy

What life with Remy looks like

Remy is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Dogs N Homes Rescue in London.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Remy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Remy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs N Homes Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Remy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Remy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs N Homes Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Remy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Remy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs N Homes Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Remy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
