Rena (Ρένα)

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 3 years

A sweet, large, beautiful female dog was abandoned with her newborn puppies in our area. She is one of the most affectionate but also "strict" mothers, having raised 8 wonderful, intelligent, people-oriented and social puppies. The time has come for her to find her own cuddle too! Rena is wonderful with people. She is calm and cooperative in her daily routine, a bit lazy, perfect on her walks on a leash, playful and affectionate. She loves hugs, long slow walks and relaxing at the feet of her humans. Although she loves human contact, she doesn't become pushy and annoying to get attention. She gets along well with other dogs (male and female) although she rarely plays with them. Our girl was born around October 2022 and weighs 35-40 kg. She has been spayed. During a preventive health check, she was diagnosed with heartworm without any symptoms and without affecting her heart. As a treatment, she takes a Milbemax pill every month. She is negative for leishmaniasis, ehrlichiosis and anaplasma. If you are interested in adoption, send an SMS to 6970195672, write "I'm interested in Rena" and we will call you soon, or send us a message on our page (All animals of the Stray Planet are given for adoption as the law dictates).

About Rena (Ρένα)

What life with Rena (Ρένα) looks like

Rena (Ρένα) is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Dogs Voice in Athens.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Greek shelters often partner with Northern European rescue groups for placements. Animals are sterilized, vaccinated, and chipped before adoption. Fees vary widely depending on whether the shelter is municipal or NGO-run.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rena (Ρένα), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rena (Ρένα)?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Voice handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rena (Ρένα) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rena (Ρένα) if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Voice will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Rena (Ρένα) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rena (Ρένα) isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Voice early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rena (Ρένα) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
