Adopt RESERVED – Shaggy

Male

Background Shaggy was rescued from the Macedonian streets in a very bad state and has been with us for a long time to recover from the consequences from the hard life as a stray. Shaggy made an incredible transformation. He was found positive for heartworm and tick-borne diseases, but received treatment and made a full recovery. When he was found he also had severe cataracts, but even this has become much better to the point where his eyes now look normal. He might have a slightly restricted view but nothing that bothers him. In other words, Shaggy is now a healthy mature dog on the lookout for his forever home. Likes This wonderful boy likes everyone and just wants to be loved and be your best friend forever. He is gentle with children and very good natured in spite of all he went through. He gets on well with other dogs and is good with cats too. Dislikes and issues We don’t know if Shaggy has ever lived in a home so he will need house training and basic education but he is a very accommodating dog and will be eager to please his human. Ideal Home We are looking for someone who would like to give Shaggy a loving forever home and provide him good quality of life. He can be homed with another calm dog or as only dog. He is quite laid back and not high energy, but would like two walks every day and a secure garden where he can enjoy some time outside on nice days. And of course he needs his own cosy dog bed and lots of cuddling time! Shaggy is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated.

About RESERVED – Shaggy

What life with RESERVED – Shaggy looks like

RESERVED – Shaggy is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Strays Without Borders in Skopje.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇲🇰Adopting from North Macedonia

Frequently asked

Adopting RESERVED – Shaggy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about RESERVED – Shaggy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Strays Without Borders handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw RESERVED – Shaggy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt RESERVED – Shaggy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Strays Without Borders will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is RESERVED – Shaggy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if RESERVED – Shaggy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Strays Without Borders early rather than rehoming privately; they know RESERVED – Shaggy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
