Adopt Rex

Male · Puppy · 4 months

Rex is a real lively go-getter who is always ready to play and cuddle. This young rascal is full of energy and adventure, making it so that he has not yet really found his favorite hobby. A home where there's always some life in the brewery would be great for him! Rex gets along well with other dogs, although we prefer not to place him in a home with older dogs who like to enjoy their day in peace. Rex likes to make a party out of everything. 😄 Like every pup, he still needs to learn some things, such as being housebroken, but he is smart and eager to learn. On walks, he does surprisingly well: he walks nicely without pulling on the leash. And car rides? No problem! Rex is an exemplary passenger. Are you looking for a cheerful, playful best friend who will fill your home with life, fun, and love? Then Rex might just be your perfect match! If interested, please fill out the form:

About Rex

What life with Rex looks like

Rex is a puppy/kitten dog waiting at Dierenasiel De Knuffelpootjes in Menen.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rex, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rex?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel De Knuffelpootjes handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rex on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rex if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel De Knuffelpootjes will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rex already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rex isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel De Knuffelpootjes early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rex and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
