Last updated: July 16. RHAPSODY is a 6-year-old Creole sheepdog, born on June 24, 2020, microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed. She weighs around thirty kilograms, though her ideal weight is estimated to be closer to 25 kg. She was entrusted to us because her family environment no longer suited her. She used to live with horses, a cat, and a pig, and she’s not compatible with them: as a true shepherd who controls movement, she would try to get them moving and chase after them—behavior that couldn’t be properly managed. Additionally, she exhibits resource guarding behavior toward food, which made her unsuitable for households with young children. RHAPSODY is an adorable little dog, very close to humans and absolutely loves cuddles. Aside from the presence of food, she has no issues at all with children and could live happily with them—as long as the children are old enough to be careful not to leave anything lying around. This issue can also be addressed with a behavioral trainer whom we’ll recommend to you. RHAPSODY gets along well with other dogs and previously lived without any problems alongside three French bulldogs—a male and two females. At the moment, she’s sharing her home with CHURRO, who is also available for adoption. She’s very pleasant and calm during walks and can easily be let off-leash once a bond has been established. She’s comfortable being left alone for a few hours. She lets everyone handle her without any trouble, including the veterinarian. She travels very well by car. Elle pèse une trentaine de kilos, mais on estime plutôt son poids de forme autour de 25 kg. Elle nous a été confiée car son environnement familial ne lui convenait plus. Elle vivait avec des chevaux, un chat et un cochon, et n'est pas compatible avec eux : en bon berger qui contrôle le mouvement, elle cherchait à les faire bouger et à courir après, et cela n'a pas été canalisé. Elle fait par ailleurs de la protection de ressources sur la nourriture, ce qui était peu compatible avec les enfants en bas-âge. RHAPSODY est une adorable louloute, très proche de l'humain, qui adore les câlins. Hors la présence de nourriture, elle n'a d'ailleurs aucun problème avec les enfants, et pourra vivre avec eux à condition qu'ils soient assez grands pour être vigilants à ne rien laisser traîner. Cette problématique pourra par ailleurs être travaillée avec un éducateur comportementaliste que nous vous conseillerons. RHAPSODY est sociable avec les autres chiens, et vivait avec trois bouledogues français, un mâle et deux femelles, sans souci. Elle cohabite pour le moment avec CHURRO, également à l'adoption. Elle est très agréable et calme en balade, et pourra facilement être détachée une fois le lien créé. Elle sait rester seule quelques heures. Elle se laisse manipuler sans problème par tout le monde, y compris le vétérinaire. Elle voyage très bien en voiture.
