Adopt Rhodes

European Shorthair · Male · Kitten · 2 months

European (Non LOOF) Age: born on 08/04/2020 Chip number: 250269590121862 History: found as a litter a few days old, without the mother. Rhodes was returned for adoption less than a year later because, according to his adopters, he developed an aggressive behavior, even after being neutered, with humans and their second cat (who arrived after). He does not get along with the puppy (who arrived after the second cat). They collected feces and urine every day all over the apartment. They therefore decided to separate from him before becoming abusive (they later corrected it to "neglecting"). Personality: Rhodes is a love on legs, not too fast and very affectionate. He gets along with everyone. He is a bit shy when he doesn't know but adapts quickly. He is afraid of noises. For dogs, it just needs an adaptation time according to his FA. He caught typhus when he was exactly 2 months old. Out of the litter of 4, 3 survived this virus and two had sequelae: one with movement coordination problems which does not prevent him from enjoying his FA's couch ^^ A little explorer, he likes to search through storage bins. The foster family did not detect any cleanliness issues. Okay Dogs: YES with some adaptation time Adoption fee: 115 euros Adoption outside of France is entirely possible. However, the adoption amount must be increased by the fees related to leaving the territory (vaccination against rabies and passport required 21 days before his departure). Adopting him must also be able to go to the foster family to meet the animal. Tested FIV/FELV:

About Rhodes

What life with Rhodes looks like

Rhodes is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Action 4 Pets in France.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rhodes, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rhodes?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Action 4 Pets handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rhodes on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rhodes if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Action 4 Pets will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rhodes already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rhodes isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Action 4 Pets early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rhodes and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
