Rhossili

Yorkshire Terrier · Female · Adult · 6 years

27-08-26 Rhossili has come to us from a breeder and is now looking for her forever home. She is a very sweet girl who desperately wants to be your friend, but she isn't quite brave enough just yet and will need some time, patience and plenty of TLC as her confidence grows. She is happy to approach you with her little tail wagging, but she is still worried about being handled and will need TLC. Rhossili is looking for a calm and quiet home with kind and understanding adopters who will give her the time she needs to settle in. She has never lived in a home before, so everything will be new to her. Her adopters will need to gently help her learn all about home life and practice new skills such as house training and walking on a lead and harness while giving her lots of reassurance along the way. Rhossili is such a lovely little girl who is trying so hard to be brave. With the right home, plenty of patience and lots of love, we hope to see her confidence blossom and watch her discover how wonderful life can be. Rhossili has a Grade 3 luxating patella in her right hind leg, which will need to be monitored. It may improve with gentle exercise as she builds muscle, but there is a possibility that she may require treatment in the future. Any treatment required for this condition would not be covered by insurance, so her adopters will need to be prepared for this possibility. Rhossili also has a mammary lump which will be assessed by our vets at the time of her spa. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Rhossili

What life with Rhossili looks like

Rhossili is a adult yorkshire terrier dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rhossili, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rhossili?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rhossili on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rhossili if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rhossili already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rhossili isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rhossili and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
