adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Rigobert can stay forever! His story: Rigobert is an approximately four-month-old male dog who, despite his tough start in life, is a cheerful, friendly, and people-oriented puppy. He is super sweet, clingy, and enjoys every bit of attention. He gets along well with other dogs, and even cats pose no problem for him. He has a soft, fluffy coat in light beige and cream tones and looks like a little teddy bear with his slightly tousled appearance. His dark, alert eyes give him a particularly affectionate expression. His build and strong paws suggest that he will grow to be medium to large. Rigobert was abandoned in a heavily trafficked area and had almost no chance of survival there. When found, he was very weak. On his nose, he bears a scar, likely from burns, from a cruel and unfortunately still used, medieval method of treating parvovirus. Despite this terrible experience, Rigobert has not lost his trust in humans and shows openness, affection, and liveliness. He is age-appropriate, friendly, curious, and ready to explore the world. Rigobert can travel from February and is looking for a loving home with people who will give him security, patience, and affection and accompany him on his further life journey. He travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Due to his young age, he is not neutered yet, but of course, he will bring his EU pet passport with travel arrangements. An alternative foster home would also be a first step in a new life for him. Who will give this special boy his heart? Many thanks to Sabine A.! You have given Rigobert his name and thus the chance at a new beginning. As of: 06.02.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Sabine A.! Stand: 06.02.2026

About Rigobert

What life with Rigobert looks like

Rigobert is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rigobert, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rigobert?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rigobert on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rigobert if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rigobert already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rigobert isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rigobert and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
