Adopt Riley-3

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 6 months

Origin Country: Spain Riley came to us when she was just two weeks old. We received a call: her mother had wandered through the mountains and had hidden her puppies in a sort of fox den deep underground for safety. Ten tiny puppy children, hidden from the world. Immediately, we set out to help. Carefully, we rescued one puppy after another from the den and gently took them into our arms. After that, the next challenge was to catch the mother with a humane trap. She was very frightened, but with patience and care, we managed to secure her. Today, she is doing well and has reunited with her little ones at the animal shelter. The mother was named Romy and is likely a mix of German Shepherd/Galgo/Podenco. Since the puppies had early contact with humans, they have grown up well-socialized. They are loving, playful, and open to their environment. Even walking on a leash, they have already learned and are doing remarkably well for their young age. Riley is no exception. Riley is a very sweet, friendly, and playful puppy with a mischievous streak. She is social, confident, and loves being around people. For our Riley, we are looking for loving people who will accompany her on her further life path and provide her with a stable environment. Adventurous dog friends who are aware of what it means and entails to adopt a young dog and who take on the responsibility over a long period of time. Puppy/dog training classes, full family integration, many cuddles, exciting and varied walks, dog- and age-appropriate stimulation. Currently, Riley is too young for spaying, which must be done by her new owners when she is old enough.

About Riley-3

What life with Riley-3 looks like

Riley-3 is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Riley-3, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Riley-3?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Riley-3 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Riley-3 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Riley-3 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Riley-3 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Riley-3 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
