Adopt Rimo (m)

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 6 years

On a foster home in 86637 Zusamaltheim Rimo – a gentle giant with a heart of gold – is searching for his forever home. Some dogs are particularly special. And then there’s Rimo. His nature is a true unique – so unique that it’s hard to put into words. You simply have to experience it. Rimo is an incredibly people-oriented dog. He loves “his” people with all his heart and would like to be as close to them as possible. Despite this, he is not at all stormy: Instead of jumping up, he stands gently in front and places his front paws gently – as if he’s hugging. This loving gesture is simply indescribably beautiful. For five long years, Rimo spent time in the shelter – in cold and isolation. Five years without his own home, without a constant person by his side. But now, he finally had some luck and was allowed to travel to a foster home. Currently, he lives with two female dogs and two cats. He gets along wonderfully with the two female dogs. Unfortunately, cats do not come along well with Rimo as he greets them too stormily, so we wish for him a home without feline feet. Children and teenagers are no problem for Rimo – he is always friendly, open, and affectionate towards people. At his foster home, Rimo is now learning step by step everything that belongs to a happy dog life. With patience and affection, he is taught the “pet basics”: He is house-trained and already runs well on a leash. He is eager to learn, attentive, and wants to please – the best prerequisites for a harmonious coexistence. Rimo’s profile at a glance: – born on 16.06.2020 – about 57 cm shoulder height and 22 kg – very people-oriented and cuddly – gets along with other dogs – child-friendly – already handles walking on a leash well – driving is no problem – eager to learn/adapts quickly – cats should not live in the home – Rimo is a Galgo mix, therefore he has a breed-specific prey drive, which does not present a problem with good leash handling. After all those years of sacrifice, Rimo now has the chance for a new life. What he still needs is his “forever place” – a person who sees him, gives him a chance, and showers him with all the love he deserves. Rimo needs only this one person. Maybe you are exactly that? Contact us or find us on FB. All our dogs travel with official trace papers, and of course, we also have Paragraph 11. This animal is vaccinated.

About Rimo (m)

What life with Rimo (m) looks like

Rimo (m) is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rimo (m), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rimo (m)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rimo (m) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rimo (m) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rimo (m) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rimo (m) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rimo (m) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
