Adopt Ringo - in the UK (Hemel Hempstead)

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

🐾 Meet Ringo – A Tiny Dog with a Huge Heart for the Right Person 🐾 Ringo is a gorgeous little, 6 year old , mixed breed boy with a possibly some Dachshund and Pinscher in him. He was rescued in Cyprus and has been living in a home in the UK for over 5 years. Sadly following a change in his family he needs to find a new home. He may be small in size , around 5.6 kg , but once he feels safe, his capacity for love is enormous. Ringo is looking for a calm, understanding, adult-only home where he can finally relax and be someone’s cherished companion. Ringo is a sensitive soul who thrives on routine, predictability and trust. When he feels secure, he is exceptionally affectionate – a true lap dog who adores snuggling under blankets, soaking up belly rubs, and curling up close to his person on the sofa. He enjoys gentle indoor play such as fetch, tug games, and will happily bring you his toys when he’s feeling playful. One of his favourite ways to unwind is settling into his crate with a crunchy carrot or chew after a walk. His crate is Ringo’s safe haven and is hugely important to his wellbeing. It’s where he can fully switch off, decompress and feel protected. He is fully crate trained, house trained, sleeps well at night, and can be left for short periods (up to 4 hours) settled comfortably in his crate. Out and about, Ringo can be a little hesitant at first, but once he’s moving he enjoys his walks and walks nicely on the lead thanks to lots of positive training. In quiet environments, his recall is excellent when no other dogs are around, and he responds very well to reward-based training. He travels well in the car too, often snoozing on longer journeys. Ringo has had extensive behavioural support over the years and has made huge progress. He is intelligent, responsive, and his obedience is very good. He does, however, need an experienced home that understands nervous and reactive dogs, and is happy to continue managing his world in a way that helps him feel safe. He can be reactive to unfamiliar dogs and finds busy, unpredictable environments stressful. He also needs space and privacy around food, which is easily managed by feeding him in his crate or pen where he feels secure. Despite every effort and professional behavioural support, the household environment is no longer one where Ringo can truly thrive. This decision has been made with immense love and heartbreak, purely to give Ringo the chance to live a calmer, happier life. In the right home, Ringo will reward you with unwavering loyalty, affection and companionship. He bonds deeply, loves intensely, and once you are “his person”, you truly are his world. If you are patient, kind, and looking for a devoted little shadow to share quiet days, cosy evenings and a lot of love – Ringo could be your perfect match.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ringo - in the UK (Hemel Hempstead), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ringo - in the UK (Hemel Hempstead)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dali Dog Rescue UK handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ringo - in the UK (Hemel Hempstead) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ringo - in the UK (Hemel Hempstead) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dali Dog Rescue UK will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ringo - in the UK (Hemel Hempstead) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ringo - in the UK (Hemel Hempstead) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dali Dog Rescue UK early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ringo - in the UK (Hemel Hempstead) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
