Rita & Coco

Female · Young · 3 years

Rita and Coco are two inseparable sisters, found when they were only babies, alone and without their mother. Taken in at a tiny age, they have known only the safety and protection of the shelter, where they grew up side by side, never once leaving each other's company. Now two and a half years old, Rita and Coco are two well-balanced female dogs with calm, composed temperaments. Very close to one another, they share a strong and reassuring bond that is an essential part of their stability. Rather independent by nature, they enjoy their quiet moments and are not constantly seeking attention. They know how to appreciate human company while keeping their autonomy, which makes them pleasant and soothing companions in everyday life. Rita and Coco are also very good guardians. Attached to their surroundings, they are watchful and protective of their home. Their temperament can sometimes be assertive, which reflects their character and self-confidence. Despite their independence, they are two deeply kind, sensitive and endearing dogs who will form a sincere bond with their family. They are looking for a loving home, able to respect their personalities and give them the stability they deserve. Since their balance rests on their relationship, they must be adopted together. If you wish to offer a family to two wonderful, loyal and unique sisters, Rita and Coco are waiting for you.

FR·Show original

About Rita & Coco

What life with Rita & Coco looks like

Rita & Coco is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Nos Amis Pour La Vie Europe in France.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rita & Coco, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rita & Coco?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nos Amis Pour La Vie Europe handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rita & Coco on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rita & Coco if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nos Amis Pour La Vie Europe will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Rita & Coco already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rita & Coco isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nos Amis Pour La Vie Europe early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rita & Coco and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
