Originally, she came from the bmt Partner Shelter in Brasov, Romania, and had already spent a long time there without ever getting the chance for a proper home. Unfortunately, Rita has a problem with fellow animals, both in cohabitation and during dog encounters. Additionally, she is very muscular and, unfortunately, also—let's not hide it—a leash escape artist. Due to her tendency to spring, she is only led on a leash with a muzzle. Many people have a problem with dogs wearing muzzles. However, for the person at the other end of the leash, it is actually more beneficial, as the walk is much more relaxed for both the dog and the person. Thus, there is some work ahead for potential adopters, but the effort is worthwhile and fosters a trusting bond between dog and person. Rita ist eine stattliche Hundedame im fortgeschrittenen Alter, die sich bereits seit November 2020 in der Obhut der Kasseler Wau-Mau-Insel befindet. Ursrpünglich kommt sie aus dem bmt-Partnertierheim in Brasov, Rumänien, und hat auch dort bereits längere Zeit verbracht und niemals die Chance auf ein richtiges Zuhause erhalten. Leider hat Rita ein Problem mit Artgenossen,sowohl im Zusammenleben, aber auch bei Hundebegegnungen. Darüber hinaus ist sie sehr kräftig gebaut und leider auch – wir dürfen es nicht verschweigen - eine Leinenpöblerin. Da sie in manchen Situationen zu Übersprungshandlungen neigt, wird sie ausschließlich mit Maulkorb spazieren geführt. Viele Menschen haben ein Problem damit, wenn ein Hund einen Maulkorb trägt. Für den Menschen am anderen Ende der Leine ist es jedoch eher von Vorteil, da der Spaziergang dadurch wesentlich entspannter für Hund und Mensch ist. Es liegt somit zunächst ein Stück Arbeit vor den Interessenten, aber die Mühe lohnt sich allemal und ist förderlich für eine vertrauensvolle Hund-Mensch-Bindung.
