Rivenly is a sweet girl who has come to us from a breeder and is now ready to find her forever home. She is full of character and a real joy to be around, and over her time with us she has been making lovely progress day by day. When Rivenly first arrived, she was a shy girl who did not enjoy being touched or stroked. However, she is now beginning to blossom into a lovely young dog who will shyly approach for a fuss and happily lean into ear scratches. Watching her take these small but meaningful steps has been truly magical, and it’s clear she has so much potential to continue growing in confidence. Rivenly can still lack confidence at times and takes great comfort from the company of other dogs. She will need at least one kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help her feel secure, guide her, and show her what it’s like to be a pet dog. She has now moved to a foster home, where she is settling in well and learning all about home life for the first time. Her house training is going well with only the occasional accident, she sleeps through the night, loves her food, happily takes treats and has already found her favourite spot on the sofa. Rivenly would be best suited to a calm and quiet home, with adopters who will allow her to settle in at her own pace. She loves other dogs and relies on them for comfort and so will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to be her friend. She is gaining confidence every day when walking on a lead and harness in quiet areas. She is happy meeting other dogs on walks, though a little unsure of larger ones at first. She also travels well in the car when crated. Rivenly could live with older, dog-savvy teenagers who will respect her space while she settles in. With the right support and understanding, we don’t think it will take her long to come out of her shell and show just how lovely she truly is.
