How do I contact the shelter about RIVER?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Voice handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw RIVER on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt RIVER if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Voice will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is RIVER already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if RIVER isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Voice early rather than rehoming privately; they know RIVER and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

RIVER

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

A sweet little puppy who was initially shy and reserved, has started to "open up" and ask for cuddles and hugs! Playful, happy and very intelligent, he follows his siblings and discovers the world around him with enthusiasm. The little one was found with 8 other live puppies and 5 dead in a plot with an empty pool/tank where there was a house under construction and 2 fearful mothers had found refuge. He was born in May 2026 and will weigh around 20-22 kg. If you are interested in adopting him, send us an SMS to 6970195672 or 6984782350, writing "I'm interested in River" and we will contact you. An animal is not a toy. You must know that adopting an animal is a life-changing decision. As an animal owner, you are legally obliged to ensure that all needs for its well-being are met. Otherwise, you are committing an offense punishable by law.

About RIVER

What life with RIVER looks like

RIVER is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Dogs Voice in Athens.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Greek shelters often partner with Northern European rescue groups for placements. Animals are sterilized, vaccinated, and chipped before adoption. Fees vary widely depending on whether the shelter is municipal or NGO-run.
