RO. Bonny

Female · Senior · 14 years

Bonny is a very timid, traumatized little girl who has to start almost everything from scratch. She needs to be built up slowly and patiently to trust and show her that she is finally safe. She is not generally aggressive, biting only if she is very frightened and feels she has no other option. She is not a dominant nature, she is just afraid, so it is very important that nothing is forced on her. She also needs to learn to walk on a leash, in fact, she needs to relearn everyday life in all areas. She gets along well with other dogs, she is not dominant towards them. We are looking for a very patient, understanding home for Bonny, where they give her time to develop and accept that her development will be a slow process. She is not recommended for a home with small children, a calm, predictable environment would be ideal for her.

HU·Show original

About RO. Bonny

What life with RO. Bonny looks like

RO. Bonny is a small senior dog waiting at Szent Ferenc Állatotthon.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting RO. Bonny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about RO. Bonny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Szent Ferenc Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw RO. Bonny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt RO. Bonny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Szent Ferenc Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is RO. Bonny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if RO. Bonny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Szent Ferenc Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know RO. Bonny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
