adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Rest in peace, poor soul… His story: Also Robby is one of the dogs that narrowly escaped death. We rescued him from the killing in Barlad and were able to place him in a pension in Sarabeni. In Barlad, he would have been burned alive very soon. Robby is estimated to be about 7 years old and one can see his transformation in the pictures. Robby has gained weight well and has transformed from a heap of misery into a confident male dog. With a height of about 63 cm, he has a large size. He has been waiting for almost 2 years for his home… In the beginning, Robby shared his pen in Sarabeni with a larger male dog. There were no problems, and he also got along well with other dogs. With people, he is friendly and enjoys attention. However, it is difficult for the helper to fully assess him. Living in a pack did not work well with Robby. We wish for Robby experienced people who can read dog body language well. Ideally, a home without other dogs or a home where the dogs can be well separated would be best. With training and a good eye, it will certainly work out well with Robby. Children will not be in his new home. Robby is a great male dog who still has to learn to live in a home and will. He will also enjoy walks in nature just as much as the attention from his people. We cannot rule out that Robby carries herding dog genes. Our Robby is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He brings his EU pet passport with him and can be transported after a positive Also an experienced foster home would be a great stepping stone for Robby. Show Robby how beautiful life is! Many thanks to Cornelia S.! You gave Robby his name and thus an identity. Many thanks to Johanna E. and Silke C.! You took on a monthly sponsorship for Robby and accompanied him on his journey! As of: 21.01.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Ruhe in Frieden, du arme Seele… About Robby

What life with Robby looks like

Robby is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Robby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Robby?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Robby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Robby if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Robby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Robby isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Robby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
