adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Roberto has found a home! His story: Roberto is one of eight siblings – together with Tonda, Ida, Alf, Joey, Tashiko, Sabsi, and Akashi, he was rescued from very poor living conditions by the Animal Police. The puppies lived with their mother with a man who kept them in terrible conditions. Our animal welfare worker Dorel was immediately willing to take the whole family into the shelter in Busag, but in the end, only the eight puppies were brought. The mother had to stay with the owner, who received a fine and was ordered to spay her and improve the living conditions. We still hope to be able to take her in someday. Roberto is now about four months old and shows himself in the shelter as a friendly, lively young dog. Among his siblings, he is very open, playful, and curious. He loves to run around, explore the world, and enjoy the company of people who engage with him. Visually, Roberto is a real cutie: his fur is marked in brown and black tones, and he sports a small white spot on his chin, which gives him a charming look. Like his siblings, he is likely to grow to medium to large size, and we assume German Shepherd mixes. The mother weighs around 20 kg. German Shepherds are known as very loyal, intelligent, and hard-working dogs. They need physical and mental stimulation – for example, through varied walks, nose work, tricks, or attending positively trained dog classes. Roberto brings the best prerequisites for this and will surely enjoy learning together with his people. Soon, Roberto will enter puberty. In this phase, it's often tried out how serious rules are meant, and some learned things seem to be forgotten for a while. For Roberto, we wish for people who will guide him through this time with loving consistency, patience, and humor, offering clear, friendly structures so that he can grow into a reliable companion. Roberto travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to his new home. He will bring his EU pet passport with him of course. Do you fulfill Roberto's wish? He would also be very happy to enter his new life through a foster home. Many thanks Sunny W.! You gave Roberto his name! Date: 05.01.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Sunny W.! Du hast Roberto seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 05.01.2026

About Roberto

What life with Roberto looks like

Roberto is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Roberto, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Roberto?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Roberto on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Roberto if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Roberto already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Roberto isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Roberto and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
