Rocco ID No.: 1050141 Breed: Ratonero-Pinscher-male dog Age: approx. 05/2016 Sex: male Shoulder height: approx. 47 cm Neutered: Yes Country: Germany Location: Düsseldorf ZIP: 40476 Contact form Rocco – an ideal companion for all of life’s situations Rocco (born May 2016, shoulder height 47 cm) is a stunningly handsome Ratonero-Pinscher-male dog who originally came from our partner shelter TripleA in Marbella. About two years ago, Rocco had the great fortune to be discovered and adopted by a kind couple in Germany. The sweet boy settled in wonderfully right away—but now his owner has fallen seriously ill, and his humans have made the difficult decision to seek a new home for him. Rocco is an exceptionally affectionate male dog who absolutely loves cuddling with his people and is overjoyed by every pet and scratch. He is very people-oriented and would love to be involved in everything his humans do. In his current home, he practically never had to be left alone, but they’ve been diligently practicing—and this clever boy is already doing very well with it. He could also easily accompany his new owner to the office, as he currently does regularly with a kind caregiver. Since Rocco currently lives in Düsseldorf, he is accustomed to city life. He travels comfortably in the car, is fully house-trained, and enjoys walks immensely. He responds friendly and sociably to other dogs, but cats should preferably not be present in his new home. This charming male dog is highly trainable, knows basic commands, and walks beautifully on a leash. He is open and friendly toward new people, and we believe he could also live happily with children who understand that a dog shouldn’t be overwhelmed or crowded. We are now looking for a loving new family who enjoys sharing adventures with Rocco and cozying up together on the couch. If you’re the one ready to stand by Rocco through thick and thin, we’d be delighted to hear from you. Of course, the lovable Rocco can also be met in person at his current home in 40476 Düsseldorf. Rocco is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and holds an EU pet passport. He tested negative for Mediterranean diseases during travel arrangements. Rocco ID-Nr: 1050141 Rasse: Ratonero-Pinscher-Rüde Alter: ca. 05/2016 Geschlecht: männlich Schulterhöhe: ca. 47 cm Kastriert/Sterilisiert: Ja Land: Deutschland Aufenthalt / Ort: Düsseldorf PLZ: 40476 Anfrageformular Rocco – ein idealer Begleiter in allen Lebenslagen Rocco (geb. About Rocco

What life with Rocco looks like

Rocco is a extra-large senior dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rocco, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rocco?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rocco on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rocco if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rocco already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rocco isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rocco and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
