Rock

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Our animal shelter, Rock, is a lively fellow with insane energy. He's a real breakdance clown who just wants to be loved. Despite his bad experiences with humans, which he unfortunately had to gather, Rock is an open and friendly dog. He exudes pure joy and loves every bit of attention he gets. With his wide smile, he won our hearts and now wants to outshine everyone with his people. Rock is pretty underwhelmed at the animal shelter and doesn't know what to do with all his energy, so he tends to have overly enthusiastic behavior. He needs a person who can provide focused training and keep his brain engaged. It's important to focus on calm exercises, as he has never learned them. Rock gets along well with fellow animals, but we should make sure the play doesn't get too wild, as his health limitations mean he shouldn't be overly physically exerted. His condition is patellar luxation, a knee disease where the kneecap can slip out of its groove. We are looking for people who can offer Rock a loving, consistent home.

DE·Show original

About Rock

What life with Rock looks like

Rock is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Ransbach-Baumbach in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rock, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rock?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Ransbach-Baumbach handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rock on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rock if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Ransbach-Baumbach will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Rock already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rock isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Ransbach-Baumbach early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rock and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
