Rockabilly

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal!Rockabilly has found a home! Her story: Caution, sugar shock! Here are Rockabilly and her five siblings, and they all are searching for a wonderful home where they can transform from sweet puppies into cherished family members. Rockabilly's start in life was anything but ideal. At just three months old, she and her siblings were secretly pushed through the broken animal shelter fence one by one at night, then simply dropped off one by one. But now, they and their siblings are in safety with our helpers and can be taken care of for a while. Rockabilly is a sweet, completely dark beauty with only a light fur strip on her belly. She is typically curious and explorative for her young age of about three months. She is a bit shy around people at first but warms up quickly and loves to play with them. Once she has gained some trust, she also enjoys cuddles very much. She shows interest in other dogs and seems to be an open, rather clever female dog. When she grows up, Rockabilly is expected to be a medium-sized dog. For Rockabilly, we wish for patient and loving people who are ready to teach her the puppy ABCs and go through the upcoming puberty together. This can sometimes be a challenging time for both the dog and the human, which is why we urgently recommend a visit to a positively working dog training class. The joint training under professional guidance strengthens the bond to the new family member sustainably. If Rockabilly has the right owners by her side, she can certainly develop into a wonderful companion who will enrich the lives of her people time and time again. She travels microchipped, vaccinated, treated for fleas, and dewormed. That's why we wonder what you are waiting for? Sign up for Rockabilly if you are the right ones for her, we are looking forward! A thank you goes to Michael K. for giving our sweet Rockabilly her wonderful name! As of: 17.10. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

Stand: 17.10.2024

About Rockabilly

What life with Rockabilly looks like

Rockabilly is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rockabilly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rockabilly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rockabilly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rockabilly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rockabilly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rockabilly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rockabilly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
