Rocket

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Rocket is a gentle and timid dog who has been living in the Funny Pets shelter in Czartki, Poland. He is a mixed breed, weighs 25 kg, and is still licking but making progress in his rehabilitation. Rocket is not looking for attention, does not jump on the cage to get your attention. He simply is. Every day he takes small steps forward - sometimes two steps forward, sometimes one step back, but always with the hope that someone will finally notice this delicate dog who so badly wants to be brave. Once terrified and emaciated, today Rocket is still a fearful dog - but no longer frozen in fear. Today he allows himself to be put on a leash. Today he leaves the kennel without pulling. Today he goes for a walk, although sometimes he stops and does not know if he can. And although Felicja, his closest companion, has already found her home - Rocket is still waiting. And he is learning to walk alone. For whom is this dog? For a person with a big heart, patience and understanding. Rocket needs someone who will not have expectations, but will have time. Someone who will understand that when he "closes", it's not because he doesn't want to - just because he's afraid. That changing direction on a walk is not a prank, but an attempt to survive emotions. That trust is a gift that you have to earn - but which is worth every day of waiting. What's worth knowing about him? - Still fearful, but making progress - allows himself to be put on a leash, leaves the kennel, allows himself to be picked up (e.g. for weighing), - Does not show aggression, even in difficult situations, - On walks he can walk nicely, although sometimes he pulls a little or changes direction when he gets scared (e.g. of cars or returning to the shelter), - He is not an affectionate dog - does not seek attention, does not demand caresses, but when he gets to know someone and trusts them, he can relax and allow contact, He is sometimes closed and "cut off" when trying to interact - needs work with methods based on trust and relationship, not on commands. Weight: 25 kg Leash: yes Attitude towards dogs: positive He has been neutered, dewormed, dewormed, vaccinated, chipped, registered in the Safe Animal database. The dog is located in: Funny Pets shelter in Czartki Czartki 49b, 98-200 Sieradz powiat sieradzki, łódzkie voivodeship 43 828 36 46 - general

Psiak przebywa w: Schronisko Funny Pets w Czartkach Czartki 49b, 98-200 Sieradz powiat sieradzki, woj. łódzkie 43 828 36 46 - ogólny

About Rocket

What life with Rocket looks like

Rocket is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rocket, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rocket?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rocket on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rocket if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rocket already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rocket isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rocket and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
