Rocky

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Rocky is a beautiful 18-month-old Bullmastiff mix. Rocky arrived at our shelter with his two brothers after being transferred from another shelter due to abandonment. Rocky is still young and has much to discover. Personality: Rocky is sensitive and reserved at first, but once he trusts you, he quickly seeks out affection and loves the presence of his humans. He enjoys calm, gentle, and comfortable environments. Rocky appreciates quiet time with his humans and is also very food-motivated - a trait that can certainly help win his heart! Rocky gets along well with other dogs. Having another dog in his future home could be a real asset for him. Rocky is not OK with cats. A family with children could be considered, but not with very young children, as their presence may make him uncomfortable. Older children who can respect his need for calm and quiet time may be a better fit. Rocky has recently discovered walks and continues to slowly discover life and all it has to offer. He will need a patient family who can accompany him at his own pace and help him gain confidence in his new environment. Important note: Rocky is a large dog. His size and strength must be taken into account when choosing his future adopters and in his daily life. A family willing to invest in him, provide a reassuring and suitable environment, and respect his sensitivity is needed. Rocky is a young, lovable dog who ultimately wants one thing: to be surrounded by patient and caring people, where he can finally feel safe and learn to fully enjoy life.

About Rocky

What life with Rocky looks like

Rocky is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at APAA Trégrom in France.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rocky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rocky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. APAA Trégrom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rocky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rocky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — APAA Trégrom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rocky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rocky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with APAA Trégrom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rocky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
