Adopt ROCOCO'

Mixed Breed · Unknown

From the moment of his birth, Rococò has suffered a lot. He was found in a weakened condition with broken back bones on a Sicilian cliff: passersby, attracted by the dog's cries of pain, called for help. From that moment on, it was a race against time to save his life. In the face of the cruelty of some people, there is the strength of others who dedicate themselves every day with concrete actions to make the world a better place and sometimes to remedy the ignorance and wickedness of those who, without scruples or heart, hurt and abandon. We have tried to give this small dog a chance at a happy life, which requires daily management filled with affection, but also special care, so he is kept in a family home for "disabled pets," cared for and loved by everyone. Rococò needs medical treatment, medication, and careful, expensive daily management. And this incredible small dog faces everything with the strength of a warrior. The everyday life of Rococò is organized according to his needs and his fragility, because the health, the very life of this extraordinary small dog, depends on us and on every small or big contribution that allows us to keep him. Together with all of you who help us, we continue to follow Rococò, to be close to him, allowing him, along with his wheels, to travel a lot of road to live peacefully.

Read original (it)

About ROCOCO'

What life with ROCOCO' looks like

ROCOCO' is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at ENPA in Rome.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Mobility impaired, uses wheelchair, requires daily medication and specialized care due to spinal injury

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting ROCOCO', answered.

How do I contact the shelter about ROCOCO'?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ENPA handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw ROCOCO' on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt ROCOCO' if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ENPA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is ROCOCO' already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if ROCOCO' isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ENPA early rather than rehoming privately; they know ROCOCO' and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
