Rodri

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Mixed-breed Rodri - Puppy seeks responsible people Rodri is one of eight mixed-breed puppies who arrived at the shelter together in July 2026. His siblings include Olmo, Cucurella, Cubarsi, Merina, and Simon. The little ones did not have a beautiful start in life and were abandoned as puppies. Despite this, Rodri has developed into a handsome and affectionate little fellow. He is still very young and has his whole life ahead of him. Some of his siblings were already able to move to foster homes, while others continue to wait in the shelter for their chance. Rodri is expected to grow to a medium to large size when fully grown. His future people should therefore not only look at the cute puppy look, but be aware of what it means to take on a dog that still needs to grow, learn, and be educated. His family must also be prepared to patiently and lovingly teach him everything a dog needs to know in everyday life. This includes not only housebreaking, but also leash training, basic commands, calmness, and good interaction in everyday life. A puppy is only small and cute for a short time. After that, he becomes a young, strong dog with his own needs and a lot of energy. Rodri is therefore looking for people who are aware of this responsibility and would like to take him in not just for the sweet puppy time, but for his whole life. We wish Rodri a safe, loving home where he can grow up as a full member of the family and get the time, education, and occupation he needs. His siblings Olmo, Cucurella, Cubarsi, Merina, and Simon are also waiting for their chance. Ideally, we are looking for a home for the sweet one. At the moment, however, a foster home would also be a great help and a huge improvement for Rodri's life. Here are Rodri's videos: Video 1 Video 2

About Rodri

What life with Rodri looks like

Rodri is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rodri, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rodri?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rodri on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rodri if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rodri already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rodri isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rodri and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
