Adopt Roger (& Slay)

Male · Adult · 4 years

Roger (& Slay) Tier-ID: 224 At the animal shelter since November 29, 2023 (Current Interested Parties: 0) Roger unfortunately arrived at the animal shelter rather neglected. He has been medically attended to and has found a best friend to steal carrots with. He absolutely wants to move into a new family with his fluffy friend "Slay." The two are only available as a double package—they didn’t look for each other, but clearly found each other. They are cuddled, played with, and groomed together—the carrots and lettuce are twisted from right to left. We are looking for rabbit friends who will take in our romantic pair together.

Roger (& Slay) Tier-ID: 224 Im Tierheim seit 29.11.2023 (Aktuelle Interessenten: 0) Roger kam leider ziemlich verwahrlost ins Tierheim. About Roger (& Slay)

What life with Roger (& Slay) looks like

Roger (& Slay) is a adult rabbit waiting at Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. in Germany.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Roger (& Slay), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Roger (& Slay)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Roger (& Slay) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Roger (& Slay) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Roger (& Slay) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Roger (& Slay) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Lippstadt und Umgebung e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Roger (& Slay) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
