Rohdiamant Golo

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Golo and his siblings Gitta, Gonzo, Gregor (who have already found a home) and Gemma (see www.sos-strassentiere.de) from Romania were born near an old lady's house. It didn't take long for the pack to join her. The lady contacted an active animal rights activist and asked for help. Initially, she refused, as there was no room for new arrivals. However, when she heard that the sixth puppy had been eaten alive by another dog, she took the five puppies in. Golo and his sister Gemma now live in a secluded shelter. They are always happy to see their lifesaver and to play and run on the large open area and meadow. Golo has not experienced much in his life so far, but nothing bad either. He is very social with other dogs and is very interested in interacting with the few people who interact with the dogs. As a puppy, he learned to wear a leash and took his first walk through the city. He was excited, but also accommodating and interested. Unfortunately, no one has time to practice walking on a leash continuously, so he is still unsure about the leash and doesn't like it. With further practice and the experience of discovering the world, he will get used to the leash. We are looking for a home with a dog-experienced, patient and relaxed owner with a house and garden in a rural area, which will give him security and a regular daily routine. A confident first dog would be advantageous, but not a condition. Also a foster home would be great. Golo is still in Romania. Male, born around February 2024, 45-50 cm, neutered, chipped, vaccinated, with EU pet passport. Adoption fee when contacting or WhatsApp 66.

DE·Show original

About Rohdiamant Golo

What life with Rohdiamant Golo looks like

Rohdiamant Golo is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rohdiamant Golo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rohdiamant Golo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rohdiamant Golo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rohdiamant Golo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rohdiamant Golo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rohdiamant Golo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierfreunde im Fläming e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rohdiamant Golo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
