Rokki (Роккі)

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

Rocky is a wonderful dog who holds a special place in my heart as a volunteer. He has been with me for three years. He was once a pet, then became unnecessary and was simply taken to a farm, chained up, not even leaving a bowl of water, and left. Rocky was lucky because I started volunteering at this farm. And of course, I didn't leave him on the chain. He lives in a room, has his own couch. And interestingly, from the first days he behaves very politely. He always goes to the toilet outside, never spoiled anything, never played. He lies on his favorite couch and only asks to turn on cartoons. Rocky has learned to play with toys and for some reason, but his favorites are all possible chickens) he is castrated and vaccinated, walks nicely on a leash, is friends with all dogs and treats people wonderfully. There are two minuses - he reacts to kittens and shakes in the car (but this is because he is not accustomed). Rocky still has no home because he is big. And big dogs are only wanted for guarding in kennels and enclosures. But this is not about him. This is a couch cat who loves to sleep next to a person, throwing a paw on a person. So if you are a brave person and are not looking for a cat in terms of weight - here he is - a real cool dog. We are very waiting

About Rokki (Роккі)

What life with Rokki (Роккі) looks like

Rokki (Роккі) is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Happy Paw Kyiv in Ukraine.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rokki (Роккі), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rokki (Роккі)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Happy Paw Kyiv handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rokki (Роккі) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rokki (Роккі) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Happy Paw Kyiv will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Rokki (Роккі) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rokki (Роккі) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Happy Paw Kyiv early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rokki (Роккі) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (UK). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
