Rolo

Male Β· Adult Β· 7 years

Meet lovely Rolo! 🐾 Rolo is a sweet little soul who has come a long way since arriving as a nervous stray. He is now showing his affectionate side, enjoying cuddles on his handler's lap and happily coming over for fuss. ❀️ Rolo absolutely loves his toys, especially soft squeaky ones, and they are a wonderful way to build his trust. He is looking for an adult-only, experienced home that understands nervous rescue dogs and can give him time to settle. Rolo can be worried by new people and may react when overwhelmed, but he is learning to take himself away when he needs space. He is not suitable to live with children, cats or other animals. He can be reactive around dogs, particularly on lead, so he needs to be the only dog in the home for now. Though with careful introductions, he can enjoy the company of suitable calm doggy friends. A quiet home with a secure garden would be ideal for helping him build his confidence. Rolo will need patient owners who are committed to continuing his training and helping him feel safe. Underneath his worries is a loving, playful little dog who is just waiting for someone to give him the chance to shine. Could you be Rolo's person? About Rolo

What life with Rolo looks like

Rolo is a adult dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rolo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rolo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rolo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rolo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rolo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rolo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rolo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
