Adopt Ron

Pomsky · Male · Adult · 4 years

Ron – a special Pomsky male is urgently looking for a home or foster care. Ron is a Pomsky male, born on 31.01.2022. He comes from a seizure and shows himself to be a shy but friendly dog who gets along very well with other dogs. He is still reserved towards people, but with patience and calmness his gentle nature can be recognized. A neurological issue was found in Ron that affects his nervous system. What exactly the cause is, needs to be clarified further - but it is clear that he urgently needs a stable environment where he can relax and receive the necessary medical care. Salva will actively support him and his new family or foster care will not be left alone on this path. The breed Pomsky is a mix of Siberian Husky and Pomeranian (Toy Spitz). Pomskies are usually intelligent, sensitive and people-oriented, but they require consistent, loving guidance and sufficient engagement. Especially sensitive dogs like Ron benefit particularly from a quiet environment and people who give them security. For Ron we are urgently looking for experienced and responsible people in Germany who are willing to take this special journey with him. Whether as a permanent home or as a foster home - it is important that Ron finally gets the chance to settle in a protected environment and receive the support he so urgently needs. With patience, love and professional support, Ron can learn to trust and start step by step into a better life. He is a special dog who is looking for people who open his heart and show him that he is not alone. If you have a serious interest in adopting Ron, please contact the responsible mediator of SALVA Dog Help. We would also be very happy about the provision of a foster home. The responsibility for a rescue dog is always a special challenge. The dogs bring a backpack with past experiences or unlearned situations with them and need time to get used to their new life. About Ron

What life with Ron looks like

Ron is a adult pomsky dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ron, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ron?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ron on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ron if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ron already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ron isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ron and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
