Ronja

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Ronja has found her home! Her story: When life circumstances change drastically, one must sometimes make a hard decision for the four-legged friend and against their own sadness. Unfortunately, for Ronja and her current family, this means that a dream team must part ways because there is no longer enough time to keep the pretty female dog as a family member. We are very sad because the pictures speak for themselves. Ronja arrived, was happy, found her favorite people, and became the center of attention – just as we wish for all dogs. Now, Ronja must say goodbye and start searching again. Ronja is incredibly friendly and warm. She loves her people, makes no difference between the big ones and the children, she is a peaceful and patient playmate. She enjoys being cuddled to death and seeks the closeness of her contact persons. Ronja has learned so much with her family and in dog training classes! The female dog, who is approximately 9 months old, is on her way to adulthood. Puberty is knocking at the door, so the people she interacts with will be questioned, boundaries will be tested. Time, calmness, and composure are needed to grow together with Ronja. She is currently about 59 cm at the shoulder and weighs 22 kg, but will still grow a bit. Not a little one, but through her heartwarming character, Ronja makes it easier for her people with the training. The pretty female dog loves to ride in the car – what a plus if you love to be on the road with the family four-legged friend. She greets other dogs and people with great enthusiasm, but her character is more submissive and not dominant. Currently, more work is being done on her lead walking, through Ronja's enthusiasm, there is always something to discover and explore. When it's time to go home and there's a short errand on the way, Ronja patiently waits in the car for her favorite person to return. At home, Ronja can now be alone for up to 4 hours. She then seeks the retreat possibility in her box, where she waits for the return of her family. Ronja signals when she needs to go to the garden to do her business. She has already learned some basic commands and likes to be called by her name. When, for example, she announces a visitor with her barking, she can be easily calmed down. We are looking for a family for Ronja that matches her nature: Open, warm, where laughter, play, and time are spent together, where the beloved girl can arrive, grow up, and stay forever. Ronja brings her EU pet passport, is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and can be adopted after a positive home check. A big thank you goes to Stefanie, Walter, and their dog Fant. You have given Ronja a beautiful name and thus an identity. Status: 03.03.

About Ronja

What life with Ronja looks like

Ronja is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ronja, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ronja?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ronja on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ronja if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ronja already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ronja isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ronja and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
