Ronnie

Persian · Male · Senior · 13 years

Hello, I am Ronnie, because my owner unfortunately can no longer keep me for private reasons, I am now searching for a new home! I came to the animal shelter with my friend Carrie. We have known each other since we were young and get along well. I would love to move out with her, but if that doesn't work, I would rather be a solo prince, because I find other cats rather silly and will chase them sometimes. People, on the other hand, I find totally awesome. I love to snuggle and really enjoy it – that’s when the Persian in me shows! Due to my long fur, I need to be regularly brushed (which I love), otherwise I tangle up quickly. Now that I’m not the youngest anymore, I was thoroughly checked by the vet, and it was found that my kidney is starting to have some problems – everything is still okay, but for support, it would be good if I could already receive kidney diet food. In my old home, I learned and loved the secure roam. For my new home, I also wish for the possibility of a quiet or secure roam, because I would love to catch some fresh air and explore the surroundings. If you want to give a great guy like me a chance, then feel free to contact the animal shelter!. This cat needs outdoor access.

Euer Ronnie

About Ronnie

What life with Ronnie looks like

Ronnie is a small senior persian cat waiting at Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. in Remagen.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ronnie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ronnie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ronnie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ronnie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ronnie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ronnie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ronnie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
